ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Olivier Caune is a French designer who spent over a decade in Shanghai, leading major architectural and urban design projects across China. As the founder and creative director of OCDesign, he directed numerous large-scale developments that blend modern aesthetics with poetic spatial narratives.
Among his signature works is the Oriental ShanShui Complex in Shaoxing, a 26-hectare cultural and tourism landmark whose name, meaning “mountain and water”, symbolizes the timeless dialogue between nature and architecture. The project includes China’s largest indoor water park, a five-star hotel, and extensive leisure and cultural facilities.
His architectural philosophy is guided by the search for balance between matter and emotion. Combining minimalist precision and sensorial depth, his designs emphasize light, proportion, and atmosphere, creating spaces that resonate with both human presence and natural context.
